In the playoffs the Saints fell short to the massive underdog Seattle Seahawks. The Saints are a team with most of the pieces in place, and despite the fact that they lack huge names in their receiving corps, they have guys who run routes well, and who know how to get open. The offensive line showed some where and tear this season, but for the Saints to return, and make a successful run through, the playoffs they must address their running back situation.
Reggie Bush shows flashes of greatness, but he is really only a big threat a few times during the game. Drew Brees airs the ball out more than most Qbs in the league, and that is because he lacks a full on running threat, that the team can trust in crunch time. The coming draft is very thick with defensive talent, which means that the Saints are going to be running into many new blue chippers, who have eyes on the former champions. If New Orleans can develop a consistent running threat, that can pull the pressure of the arm of Drew Brees, they will be lining themselves up well for another run at the championship.
New Orleans could also use some help on the defensive side of the ball. Last season they gave up big yards to teams like Carolina, which shouldn’t have had a chance against the Saints. Marshawn Lynch’s huge run in the playoffs highlighted the struggles on the Saints defense when it comes to containing big play makers. They should look to add speed on their pass

Troy Pomalu has got lucky, again. For the 6th time he has been voted, with 17 votes in his favour to win the Associated Press 2010 NFL Defensive Player Award. He has beaten Clay Matthews of the Green Bay Packers to it.

In less than a weeks time he will have to face Matthews again, this time on the field competing for the Super Bowl. And things might get nasty then, no doubt.

The Titans are without the coach now.
Jeff Fisher has officially made a statement that after 17 years with the franchise he is calling it a day. But was his decision really based on the will to go forward? Or was it Adams who, unintentionally sparked this to happen?

As you may or may not know Jeff Fisher had an image of his sons future. And that future would naturally involve football. Brandon Fisher already played for Montana but it seems that both the father and the son wanted more.

The Jets didn’t have much luck with the Super Bowl this year. They came really short to winning over in Pittsburgh and heading off to the Super Bowl but instead they got an injured quarter back, Mike Sanchez and the defeat from the Steelers.
And for Steelers it pretty much means their third Super Bowl victory. Ben Roethlisberger was probably super excited. The season hasn’t started well for him, being suspended for four games he came back to lead his team to where they are now, heading for the Super Bowl, and being a one victory away from it at that.

I wonder if you remember the old TV sitcom, the coach? It aired in the early 90′s I think and basically the plot was centred around a football coach, his personal and professional life.

It was done in a quite specific way whereas the coach was never showed coaching. It was all about him in the office interacting with others, at home spending time with his family trying to deal with any potential problems which growing up kids usually bring to the household.

Receiver Steve Smith is quite possibly the best player in the Panthers history. In his ten seasons with the team he has been elected to the Pro bowl three times, and is a three time All-Pro as well. Smith is a proven leader, and despite his ten seasons of play he still remains one of the most dangerous receivers in the league.
After being selected in the third round of 2001draft Smith joined the young team, and became an immediate impact player on special teams, leading all rookies for the year in net yards, and ranking forth in the NFL overall. The following year Smith earned a starting spot at wide receiver
In 2003 Smith helped lead the Panthers to their first, and only Super Bowl appearance. His catch in second overtime Read more »

Oh man, I bet no one expected such a great defensive play by the Ravens. I mean, they are good but even the chiefs must have been left stunned by how good they really were.
Ray Lewis and crew simply left the Chiefs stunned after their performance on Sunday, not letting the young team score much and beating them 30 – 7, a mindblowing win so to speak.

Finally it is Rex Ryans moment. In almost TV like style he beat the unbeatable Peyton Manning and his Colts with a 17-16 victory last weekend.
Additinally Nick Folk scored a 32 yd field goal in the extra time on Saturday blowing the final blow to the Colts.
Ryan didn’t hide his excitement about the victory and moving on in the playoffs. Manning and his Colts unfortunately are left behind and can say goodbye to playoffs altogether.

Coming off arguably the worst loss in the NBA this season, the New Orleans Hornets look to rebound against the Utah Jazz, a team they have not had much recent success against.
The Jazz have won 7 of the last 8 meetings between the two teams. New Orleans’ lone win in those games came in 2008.
For the Hornets, it has been a hugely successful start to the season. After an offseason that often looked like they may lose their franchise cornerstone in Chris Paul, New Orleans has the 3rd best record in the NBA. Their 3 game winning streak was snapped in Los Angeles on Monday as the NBA’s worst team, the Clippers, rallied to beat them. Despite the loss, fans haven’t had much to complain about.
Chris Paul has been superb at running the show, like usual. He ranks 2nd in the NBA in assists, and 11th in 3-point field goal percentage. His 48.4 percent showing from deep is easily the best of his career. His supporting cast has been excellent, with David West leading the way. West leads the team with 18.8 points per game while chipping in 6.6 rebounds. First-year Hornet Marco Belinelli is chipping in 12.8 points and 2.0 made threes per contest, and big man Emeka Okafor is averaging his usual double double, checking in at 10.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.
The Utah Jazz have had a similarly successful beginning to their season. They enter the game at 10-5, 2nd in the Northwest Read more »
